Description

The PCI 53B provides a complete single slot MIL-STD 1553B interface for PCI bus computers. The 1553B interface is a 1 Mbit per second serial bus interface, used where reliability in extreme environments is essential. The PCI 53B initializes as a single RT, after initialization the application program can configure the card as required.

The PCI 53B uses an on board SPARC processor and can be reprogrammed for any 1553 protocol. The PCI 53B supports the full standard but may be configured to detect any standard command or sub-command as illegal.

Software

Device drivers for Sun Solaris™, Linux and Windows are included with the board, as well as several utility and example programs and a C language interface library. The driver provides access to the PCI 53B through standard system I/O and IOCTL calls.
