EDT RCX C-Link full mode modules provide long range capabilility for medium and full mode Camera Link cameras. Module pairs incorporate high-speed fiberoptic transceivers and re-synch connectors at the framegrabber end, providing a clean and compact long distance solution for demanding high-bandwidth Camera Link applications.
EDT's RCX C-Link modules plug directly into the camera/framegrabber, replacing the standard Camera Link cables with what amounts to a long-range fiber optic replacement for standard camera link cables. Standard configurations provide for fiberoptic lengths of up to 300 Meters; longer range transceiver options are available for up to 10 Kilometers, and custom configurations have been provided for distances of up to 70 Kilometers.
Virtually all Camera Link cameras are supportable. To date, EDT has tested the RCX C-Link extension systems with Basler and Mikrotron full mode cameras, as well as numerous base mode cameras. Contact EDT for a current list of cameras that have been tested at EDT labs.
EDT stocks 6' and 200' fiber optic cables. For different lengths, specific jackets, bulkhead connectors, and other special fiber requirements, we suggest contacting a fiberoptic assembly provider.
Camera-end resynch/power cables are provided with any full mode setup. Be sure to choose the right one for your application -- see the block diagrams [pdf] for ordering options and part numbers.
Since the RCX C-Link module plugs directly into the camera or framegrabber, standard Camera Link cables are usually not needed. Adapter cables are available for special situations, such as when the camera is to be mounted in a close-fit housing. Available fiberoptic cables, adapters and suggested third-party vendors are listed on our fiber cables and adapters page
Refer to the block diagrams [pdf] for specific part numbers. Note that RCX C-Link modules for medium and full mode are slightly different than their base mode counterparts; you can not use four standard RCX C-Link modules for medium or full mode.
